Counseling programs are an integral part of participant’s educational environments, and the program is designed to produce positive changes in behavior and social learning. Outcomes include increased academic achievement, social-behavioral skill development, and individual planning and family/community involvement. The purpose of the counseling program is to provide specific skills in a preventive manner to ensure that all participants have the opportunity to achieve educational and social success. It also serves to provide intervention and referral services for those who are experiencing difficulties in their lives which interfere with their achievement.
